Science Gateway Community Institute

The NSF funded Science Gateway Community Institute (SGCI), connects people and resources to accelerate discovery by empowering the science gateway community. SGCI provides services, resources, community support, and education for creating and sustaining science gateways. Science Gateways are online interfaces that give researchers, educators, and students easy access to specialized, shared resources that are specific to a science or engineering discipline. Nurturing the next generation of gateway users and developers is a critical part of the SGCI effort. Our student-focused programs run by Workforce Development offers students access to the mentoring, career development, internships and workshops that students need for pursuing a career building or using science gateways. SGCI is co-sponsoring this Hackathon to challenge up-and-coming programmers for tomorrow's science gateways.

Globus

Globus is a software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service for research data management, used by thousands of research institutions and high-performance computing (HPC) facilities worldwide. The service enables secure, reliable file transfer, sharing, and other services for managing data throughout the research lifecycle. Globus is an initiative of the University of Chicago.

XSEDE

The Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) is an NSF-funded virtual organization that integrates and coordinates the sharing of advanced digital services - including supercomputers and high-end visualization and data analysis resources - with researchers nationally to support science. XSEDE provides the expertise to ensure that researchers can make the most of the supercomputers and tools. Our mission is to enhance the productivity of a growing community of scholars, researchers, and engineers and add significant value to the leading cyberinfrastructure resources funded by the NSF and other agencies.https://www.xsede.org
